Feature Overview: Six Modules + GEO/SEO Diagnostics

From “a glance at the big picture” to “drilling into a single site and source,” then to “compare competitors, receive alerts, run diagnostics”—one complete website operations loop.

site-monitor’s Six Modules

The product skeleton covering monitoring, drill-down, comparison, management, configuration, and alerts.

Module 01
📈

Overview Dashboard

A single screen of core metrics across all monitored sites: traffic share, growth/decline, backlinks, and ranking trends, drawn independently per data source.

Module 02
🔍

Site Detail Drill-down

Open a single site and switch through metrics by data source with history trends; source isolation avoids mixing estimates from different sources.

Module 03
⚔️

Competitor Comparison

Compare your traffic share, growth board, and keyword coverage against competitors within the same single-source subset, yielding explainable differences rather than cross-source illusions.

Module 04
🗂️

Site Management

Add, remove, and edit monitored sites, bulk import (e.g., the 724-site master table), and set active monitoring tiers—all centralized.

Module 05
🔌

Data Source Settings

Configure credentials (OAuth or API Key) per data source; left blank, it runs on simulated data, clearly tagged “Simulated data” in the UI.

Module 06
🔔

Alert Center

Configure threshold rules for rankings, traffic, backlinks, and more. This release shows alerts in-page; email/Webhook channels are placeholders and not actually sent.

GEO/SEO Diagnostics Module (Dedicated Chapter)

Beyond the four traditional SEO dimensions, we add four GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) dimensions to help you answer both “Can search engines find me?” and “Will AI engines mention me in their answers?”

🔧

SEO Dimensions

  • seo_tech seo_tech Technical / Indexing: crawl, indexing, Core Web Vitals baseline.
  • seo_page seo_page Page Experience: structure, accessibility, readability.
  • seo_backlink seo_backlink Backlinks: referring domains and backlink volume.
  • seo_keyword seo_keyword Keywords: organic keyword coverage and rankings.

All auto-detected by the corresponding data sources

🤖

GEO Dimensions

  • geo_entity geo_entity Entity / Brand: brand and entity signal consistency.
  • geo_structured geo_structured Structured Data: JSON-LD deployment.
  • geo_answerable geo_answerable Answerability: whether content is easy for AI to extract as an answer.
  • geo_ai_mention geo_ai_mention AI Engine Mentions: mention status within AI answers.

geo_entity: auto-detectable The last three require manual review

Honest labeling: the three GEO dimensions geo_structured / geo_answerable / geo_ai_mention currently have no automatic data-source coverage and require manual review. Neither this module nor the marketing site claims they are auto-detected; in diagnostics they appear as “Manual review” rather than fabricated auto-scores.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about data sources, methodology discipline, and GEO/SEO diagnostics.

Which data sources does site-monitor integrate?
14 data sources are integrated: four base sources—GSC, GA4, Semrush, Ahrefs—plus ten extended sources—Similarweb, Ubersuggest, Serpstat, SE Ranking, SpyFu, Sitechecker, SEO Review Tools, Cloudflare Radar, Tranco, and Cisco Umbrella. When credentials are empty, simulated data is used and tagged “Simulated data” on the page.
Why emphasize “source independence, no cross-source merging”?
Different data sources can estimate the same site 25%–40% apart (e.g., Google’s monthly-visit estimate differs between Similarweb and Semrush). Cross-source weighting creates false precision, so site-monitor insists each source be collected and presented independently, with comparisons and rankings confined to a single same-source subset.
In GEO/SEO diagnostics, which dimensions are auto-detected and which need manual review?
seo_tech (Technical/Indexing), seo_page (Page Experience), seo_backlink (Backlinks), seo_keyword (Keywords), and geo_entity (Entity/Brand) can be auto-detected by their respective data sources; geo_structured (Structured Data), geo_answerable (Answerability), and geo_ai_mention (AI Engine Mentions) currently have no automatic coverage and need manual review. Neither site-monitor nor this site claims the latter three are auto-detected.
Is the traffic and ranking data real?
Traffic and rankings are presented only as “estimated / missing.” Some sites—especially China, short-video, and messaging-app-dominated properties—are systematically undercounted or missing under the web-traffic methodology; we label this honestly and never fabricate scale.
Will alerts actually be sent to email or Webhook?
This release shows alerts in-page; the email and Webhook channels are placeholder configurations and are not actually sent. Threshold rules can be configured in the Alert Center, with external delivery channels added in a later release.
